H2020 project EREK -  European Resource Efficiency Knowledge Centre is a new European Initiative which enables SMEs to improve their use of resources, produce less waste and increase their overall productivity and competitiveness. 

EREK's online platform brings together a network of business support organisations from different regions and sectors across the continent. 

European SMEs can take their first step towards combining competitiveness with resource efficiency  in their business operations. EREK provides the tools & expertise to help businesses to save resources along with saving costs.

Throughout the duration of the project, a host of workshops will be hosted throughout the European Union which will delve into resource efficiency trends and developments for our targeted stakeholder. 

The next workshop is to be hosted in Prague on the 22nd of May ( 09:00 - 16:00).  - EREK workshop: Technical assistance and tools for identification of resource efficiency potential in SMEs.

Plenty of registration slots remain open for this upcoming event and we're making a final push for to encourage additional participants to register.

Workshop objectives:

  • To bring together resource efficiency and business support intermediaries from public and private sector, and policy makers responsible for resource efficiency and circular economy agenda.
  • To share knowledge and experience on public support programmes as well as specific tools for identification of resource efficiency potential in SMEs, and learn from each other.
  • To enable networking and engage intermediaries from relevant countries into EREK activities.

Target audience:

The main group of participants shall consist of intermediaries (national public agencies as well as private organizations) and public administration bodies responsible for resource efficiency topic (e.g. ministries) from, in particular, Central and Eastern Europe countries, including Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia. Representatives from other countries are also welcomed and can be invited.

Each block consists of three presentations (60 – 90 minutes) followed by 30 minutes of facilitated discussion. Presenters will be from EcoBusinessPlan Vienna, Effizienz-Agentur NRW, EMPRESS, ENVIROS, the European Commission, ifu Hamburg, IHOBE, Ministry of Trade and Industry of Czech Republic, Technopolis Group, and VDI ZRE.
