THE BRNO CENTRE OF EUROPEAN STUDIES
Who are we?
The Brno Centre of European Studies (BCES) is a signatory association whose members are universities in Brno - The Janáček Academy of the Performing Arts in Brno, Masaryk University in Brno, Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry in Brno, the University of Veterinary and Pharmaceutical Sciences in Brno, Brno University of Technology and the University of Defence - and the Statutory City of Brno and the Southern Moravia Region.
BCES was founded in 2002 with the aim of overseeing co-operation and coordination in the development of study programmes meeting the needs of the labour market resulting from preparations for accession to the EU. At the present time it is focusing on the following principal goals:
- the development of joint promotion and marketing activities in the European context
- co-operation and coordination in relations with European institutions
- co-operation relating to the internationalisation of studies at universities in Brno, particularly in looking after foreign students
- the organisation of joint cultural, sports, education, publishing and academic activities with a significant European dimension
- the creation of joint projects involving academic, educational and creative activities
We offer:
- a wide range of study programmes in practically all areas of higher education, including study programmes specifically targeted at preparing staff with the necessary skills for administering relations with the EU
- a number of life-long education programmes
- the chance of co-operating with Brno's universities in research and development
- co-operation in the organisation of conferences and seminars
